Clean render, brick and cladding on your house

Clean render, brick and cladding on your house

Has air pollution turned your walls grey, or is green algae spoiling the look of your house? Your exterior walls shape the look and value of your home. If you're wondering how to clean render without hiring a specialist company, the good news is that you can do it yourself.

Brush, don't blast: cleaning walls without high pressure

Why clean your exterior walls yourself?

Dirt on your walls is more than a cosmetic problem: algae and moss hold moisture, which over time damages the mortar joints and the structure of your walls.

Added value: clean walls instantly boost your home's kerb appeal — essential if you're selling, and nicer for you to live with.

Protecting materials: removing dirt regularly stops it working its way deep into the pores of brick or render.

Safety: no wobbly ladders. You work with both feet on the ground, right up to the roofline of a three-storey house — thanks to SureLock™ and AlignTrack™, the pole stays stable.

Savings: professional wall cleaning costs hundreds of euros a time. An Eagle Extend® kit pays for itself after an afternoon's work.

Which water-fed pole suits my house?

Not every wall needs the same material. The height of your house and the size of the job determine the best choice:

Up to 5.5 metres — ground floor and low walls: the Aluminum Supreme is a sturdy, affordable starting point for bungalows, garages and side walls.

Up to 9 metres — family and terraced houses: when cleaning walls, you move the pole sideways a lot. Carbon Fiber is lighter and stiffer than aluminium: maximum control, less strain on your back.

Up to 12+ metres — detached houses and gables: need to reach right up into the gable? The 3K Full Carbon is extremely rigid, so you can still put pressure on the brush at 12 metres.

Step by step

How to clean your exterior walls thoroughly

With a little preparation, cleaning your walls is safe and effective. Here's how to do it without causing damage.

1

Pre-treat and lather up

Walls often turn green from the weather, so water alone isn't enough. Fit the SoapFlow soap dispenser between your tap and the pole and fill it with Allround Cleaner to soak off the algae.

2

Extend the pole

Stand the pole upright and extend it to the height you need; the SureLock™ clamps won't slip. Ideally, use the 4-Jet wash brush: wide, with four water jets for thorough, fast work. Check for overhead power lines first.

3

Brush and foam

Apply a layer of foam, leave it for a moment (don't let it dry) and scrub the surface thoroughly. The rigid pole lets you put real pressure on caked-on algae.

4

Rinse clean

Switch off the soap and rinse with clean water. Doing the windows at the same time? The PureFlow water softener gives you a streak-free finish without limescale marks.
