Caravan, motorhome and van cleaning

Caravan, motorhome and van cleaning

Washing a tall van, motorhome or caravan is quite a job. A car wash is risky for scratch-prone plastic windows — or your vehicle simply won't fit. And wobbling on a step ladder with a bucket of soapy water is no alternative. A soft caravan cleaning brush on a long pole is the answer.

The SoftWash Brush in action on paintwork and acrylic glass

Why wash your motorhome or van yourself?

Large vehicles need their own approach: the roof collects green algae, sap and bird droppings, but you can hardly reach it.

Safety: working on a wet step ladder is asking for trouble. With an Eagle Extend® pole, you stand firmly on the ground and can easily reach across the roof of your motorhome or lorry.

Scratch-free result: car washes often use stiff brushes — bad news for the soft paintwork of caravans and the scratch-prone acrylic windows of motorhomes. The SoftWash Brush is an extra-soft wash brush (not a chemical soft-washing system) with split-tip bristles, gentle on every surface.

Cost savings: a wash at a truck wash or jet-wash bay can easily cost €20–50. After one or two washes, your own kit has paid for itself — and you can use it for windows and solar panels too.

The right motorhome cleaning brush for every vehicle

Choose a lightweight aluminium pole for occasional use, or carbon if you regularly wash several vehicles. The hexagonal HexaLock® connection holds the brush firmly at any angle — no brush twisting against your paintwork. It's just as handy for boats and RVs. Not sure? The Pole Finder recommends the right kit in two minutes.

Step by step

How to clean a caravan, motorhome or van

With a little preparation, you can wash any large vehicle safely and streak-free.

1

Pre-treat and lather up

Vehicles are often greasy from soot and traffic film. Fit the SoapFlow soap dispenser between your tap and the pole and fill it with Allround Cleaner.

2

Rinse off loose dirt first

Hose the vehicle down thoroughly so sand and dust are gone before you start brushing — otherwise the grit acts like sandpaper on the paintwork.

3

Wash from the roof down

Extend the pole and lather the vehicle again. The length lets you wash the whole roof without standing on it — which many motorhomes and caravans don't allow anyway. Work slowly from top to bottom.

4

Rinse clean

Switch off the soap and rinse with clean water. For a streak-free finish without limescale marks on paintwork and windows, use the PureFlow water softener.
