Remove cobwebs and dust from high ceilings and walls

Remove cobwebs and dust from high ceilings and walls

Dust gathering under the roof of your warehouse, cobwebs around the lights in a double-height atrium, or dirty ventilation grilles 8 metres up: these are the spots that get skipped because they seem out of reach. Yet this high-level dust affects your building's air quality and the impression it makes. Here's how to remove cobwebs from high ceilings safely.

The Cobweb Brush Pro in action: cobwebs gone in one sweep

Why high-level dust removal matters

Health and hygiene: dust on pipes and rafters eventually drifts down. Removing it regularly means cleaner air in the workplace — essential for allergy sufferers and in dust-sensitive production areas.

A professional look: a showroom or entrance with cobwebs in the corners looks neglected. A clean ceiling helps give your customers a fresh impression.

Fire safety: dust that builds up on cable trays and hot light fittings can, in extreme cases, become a fire hazard.

Cost savings: cleaning yourself with a telescopic pole saves thousands on scaffolding and access platform hire.

The right tools: cobweb brush, duster or microfibre?

Besides the pole, the attachment determines the result. With the universal HexaLock® connection, you can click any attachment onto your pole in seconds:

The Cobweb Brush Pro: with its stiff bristles and round shape, this cobweb duster is ideal for the rough work — stubborn cobwebs in corners, around beams and on rough brick or concrete walls. See the Cobweb Brush Pro.

The Duster Pro: for delicate objects such as lights, security cameras and smooth suspended ceilings. It picks up fine dust without scratching. See the Duster Pro.

The Microfibre Duster Pro: an excellent dust catcher for smooth surfaces: it's electrostatic, so dust is held rather than moved around. It bends to reach the tops of cupboards, air-con units and ceiling tiles, and the cover is removable and washable. See the Microfibre Duster.

Step by step

How to clear dust from high spaces safely

Follow these steps for efficient cleaning without steps or a ladder.

1

Check the dirt and cover up

Look up carefully and work out where the dust and cobwebs are. Cover any delicate equipment or furniture below the work area — dust and cobwebs will fall down.

2

Choose the right attachment

Click the cobweb brush (for cobwebs) or the duster (for fine dust) firmly onto the pole. All three interior attachments are bendable; set the head at the right angle to reach the tops of cable trays or lights.

3

Extend the pole section by section

Raise the pole as you extend it. Start with the thickest section for maximum stability — the SureLock™ clamps lock each section firmly in place.

4

Twist for webs, sweep for dust

For cobwebs: twist the cobweb brush so the web wraps around it rather than falling down. For dust: sweep with slow, long strokes and shake the duster out outside regularly.
